The Office of Policy and Planning (OPP) promotes public health policy priorities and supports CDPH capabilities for community health improvement, informed policy development, research and analysis, integrated planning, decision intelligence, lean transformation, and grants management. The OPP leads comprehensive assessment, long term strategic and health improvement planning to address current and emerging cross-cutting public health and equity priorities, conducts policy analysis, monitoring and impact evaluation, cultivates partnerships with health systems, academic partners and other sectors; facilitates accountability for effective and efficient public health infrastructure funding, supports organizational capacity building to foster a culture that encourages learning continuous improvement, and empowerment of CDPH staff.

The Consulting Psychologist (CP) will serve as the Trauma Mitigation and Response Initiative Coach and Consultant. They will deliver trauma-responsive programs, trainings, and evidence-based practices for the Department's workforce. The CP will develop a critical incident response program to support CDPH staff affected by trauma. They will consult with staff and stakeholders on effective trauma-related practices to ensure successful professional development and training programs. This role involves autonomous, high-level decision-making impacting at-risk communities and fostering a trauma-informed culture within CDPH.

This position may be eligible for telework under CDPH's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Qualifications
