The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Trades Apprentice - Adaptive Equipment Specialist 1 to join our dynamic team. In this position, we are looking for someone interested in assisting individuals by constructing adapted equipment based on Licensed Occupational and Physical Therapist specifications.

  • Assist individuals by constructing adapted equipment based on Licensed Occupational and Physical Therapist specifications.
  • Design and construct adapted or special equipment.
  • Cut wood and plastic with band saw, table saw, panel saw and other tools for the construction of wheelchairs.
  • Participate in the molding process.
  • Mix liquid foam for seating systems.
  • Fit wood, metal and plastic to seating and alternate positioning systems.
  • Construct mobility bases, attach seating systems in accordance to specified angles and measures.
  • Document service performed and completion of revisions to systems.
  • Fabricate customized metal hardware attachments for wheelchair inserts and adapted equipment.
  • Assists in upholstery work on adapted equipment.
  • Assist individuals by providing maintenance services.
  • Repair adapted equipment, steam cleaning, and power washing systems.

Location:  Pinecrest Supports and Services Center - LDH Occupational Therapy
Appointment Type:  This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, Detail to Special Duty or Job Appointment
Shift:  8:00 AM - 4:30 PM           Pass Days:  Saturday and Sunday
Compensation:  

Trades Apprentice - $16.06 - $28.90

Adaptive Equipment Specialist 1: $21.05 - $37.88
