Supervising Microbiologist (35 Hour)

The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) has an opening for Supervising Microbiologist to join team! This position will be overseeing the pre-analytical and post-analytical processes, within the Quality Assurance and Scientific Support Services Division, at the CT State Public Health Laboratory. 

This position will ensure support staff are trained and competent in the pre- and post-analytical procedures, which include but are not limited to receipt, initial preparation and routing of specimens and samples submitted to the laboratory, sterilization, cleaning of laboratory glassware, media preparation, infectious waste disposal, and distribution of collection outfits to clinical facilities and local health departments. This position will also be expected to communicate with hospital staff and other submitters on issues related to specimens submitted for testing

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Work Shift: Full-time, First Shift
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week
