The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) is now hiring for a Staff Attorney 2 to join their engaging, impactful, and growing team! This position involves reviewing, negotiating and presenting cases involving licensed healthcare entities. This rewarding opportunity allows you to have a significant impact on the quality of health care in the state.

The Staff Attorney 2 will support the Certificate of Need (CON) program, which regulates specific healthcare facilities and services to ensure access to quality and cost-effective healthcare for Connecticut residents and to avoid unnecessary duplications of those facilities and services. The individual who fills this position will review CON applications and submissions, conduct legal research, hold public hearings as a Hearing Officer, draft CON determinations, draft CON decisions, oversee compliance for legal issues, participate in working groups, interact with hospital administrators, stakeholders and members of the public verbally and in writing and provide information and advice to DPH leadership as required.
