Social Services Division Administrator 17 - Michigan Youth Treatment Center

The Director serves as the chief administrator of a fully licensed child caring institution whose mission is to create a nurturing and empowering environment where youth and staff feel safe, valued, and supported. The program delivers comprehensive therapeutic, psychiatric, educational, vocational, and re-entry services designed to meet the complex needs of youth in care.
 The Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of a secure treatment program operating 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This role oversees the facility’s budget and directs the work of more than 40 professional staff across three shifts.
 
 The Director ensures that all youth receive services within a cohesive treatment philosophy that upholds dignity and respect, regardless of cultural, ethnic, or religious background, and advances the mission of equipping youth with the tools to achieve long-term success.

Requirements

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.


Experience
Social Services Division Administrator 17
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Equitable Classification Plan (ECP) Group Three manager.


Qualifications

This position is located at the Michigan Youth Training Center (MYTC) at 400 N. Rose Street, Mt. Clemens, MI. 


Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
