Registered Nurse Advanced Practice
The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.
Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Advanced Practice to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality care and coordination of nursing services across our programs. This role will also manage primary medical care, acute and chronic, for individuals in an assigned Intellectual Disabilities program in collaborative practice with the physician group.

Requirements
NOTE:
The temporary APRN permit allows an APRN applicant to work in a limited capacity for up to 120 days while awaiting review for full APRN licensure by the nursing board. An APRN applicant cannot medically diagnose or medically manage patients until they are licensed and have prescriptive authority. If the APRN license is not received within the 120-day period and the permit expires, the employee must be removed from the position.
Qualifications
Job Duties:
- Assesses individuals supported routinely and as needed to determine the presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, diagnostic results, medical history and prescribes treatments as indicated according to appropriate clinical practice.
- Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations.
- Primary medical care is provided in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) members such as nurses, Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDP), Nutritionist, psychologist, Occupational/Physical/Speech Therapists, and physicians using physician/nurse practitioner protocols. Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with other members of the medical staff, allowing for consultation, collaboration and referral.
- Develops medical plans based on assessed needs in collaboration with the IDT. Refers to physician group for all new admission assessments/orders and assumes care after admission by a physician.
- Consults with physicians regarding patient conditions, diagnoses, treatment plans, medical plans, medication orders and need for specialty care; keeps physician advised of health status as needed. Recognizes situations requiring physician care, such as acute/chronic/mental/emotional conditions outside of the scope of practice of an advanced practice RN. Provides after-hours on-call coverage in rotation with the physician group.
- Attends medical/clinical committees/meetings as assigned such as Pneumonia Review Committee, Mortality Peer Review Committee and regular Medical Department meetings. Completes all mandatory education and training required by LDH and PSSC. Maintains licensure as Advanced Practice RN and completes all required CEUs.
- Updates collaborative practice to reflect changes in physician group and submits revised collaborative practice agreements to LSBN as required. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administrator to support the Agency and/or the people we serve.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Detail to Special Duty, Probation, Job Appointment, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
Work Schedule:8:00AM – 4:30 PM. Pass Days: Sat. & Sun.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate:
REGISTERED NURSE ADVANCED PRACTICE $55.001hr. – $81.42hr.
This position receives premium pay of $ 10.00 per hour.
This position also receives Shift Differential, Longevity Pay, and Additional pay options.
