Registered Nurse 1
Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Local Governing Entity (LGE) created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1989. JPHSA is responsible for managing and operating Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated Primary and Behavioral Healthcare services through JeffCare, its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
JeffCare's goal is integration of primary care and behavioral health services to best serve the needs of the population, and empowerment of individuals to achieve improved quality of life through the provision of effective services, delivered in an environment of integrity and respect. The Registered Nurse 1 provides nursing duties under the close supervision of a registered nurse of a higher level.

Qualifications
Job Duties:
As a Registered Nurse, you will,
- Meets and greets individuals per the current workflow and customer service standard
- Performs professional nurse duties that may include administration of intramuscular, intranasal, oral, or subcutaneous medications ordered by a physician or APRN under the close supervision of a registered nurse of a higher level
- Observes and assesses individuals’ physical conditions and behaviors in response to administered medications and records observations on the electronic health record and relevant electronic databases
- Administers Tuberculosis screening/testing, providing education, evaluating test results, and completing follow-up referrals as indicated
- Assists in the development and enactment of treatment plans for individuals in the assigned program
- Receives and fulfills physicians' and APRNs’ instructions regarding individuals’ care and transmits orders, as needed, to other divisions or facilities
- Assists physicians and APRNs with examinations and records individuals’ mental and physical health histories
- Assists in emergency code situations, both behavioral health and medical
- Provides education to individuals or at community events on relevant health topics, including medications, health and wellness, nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, smoking cessation, transmission of TB, STD, and HIV, and pregnancy risk in substance abuse
- Assists with the transition of individuals following admission to a medical or psychiatric facility
- Reviews external crisis assessment data to determine appropriate care recommendations and facilitates connections to identified interventions.

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group
Work Schedule: Flexible work hours that may be outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, schedule dependent on job duties. This position requires working at both agency locations in Metairie and Marrero.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
