Connect passion with purpose. The Fulton County Board of Health provides a variety of services that help protect residents from health threats, increase access to health services to improve health outcomes, and provide information that assists Fulton County citizens in living healthier lives.


The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Radiologist 2 (X-Ray Tech) within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Medical and Preventive Services.

Requirements

Under general supervision, prepares and operates radiographic equipment utilized to take general radiographic images. Develops images and checks for clarity.

  • Determines and selects proper instrument control setting for all procedures
  • Explains procedures and observes clients to ensure safety and comfort during scan
  • Keys commands and data into computers to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain images
  • Monitors clients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physicians
  • Monitor equipment for proper functioning; repairs or arranges for repairs as needed
  • Monitors video display of area being scanned and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality
  • Operates and/ or oversees the operation of radiological and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
  • Positions client on examining tables and/or prepares client for electrodes or probe placements
  • Positions imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination
  • Reviews and evaluations developed x-rays, videotapes, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
  • Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of clients and staff.

Qualifications

Associate degree or diploma in radiologic technology from an accredited college or university and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and two (2) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year experience at the lower-level Radiologist 1 (HCT070) or position equivalent.

Requires the ability to do so within the context of existing organizational theories and management principles.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to function in a managerial capacity for a division or organizational unit; includes the ability to make decisions on procedural and technical levels.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate andcontroltheactionsofequipmentandmachinery,requiringthemonitoring,adjustment,regulation,and/or setting of multiple conditions.

VerbalAptitude:Requirestheabilitytoutilizeawidevarietyofreference,descriptive,advisory,and/or design data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform moderately complex algebraic and geometric operations; ability to utilize principles of basic probability and statistical inference. 

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or synthesis functions; deal with concrete and abstract variables; and analyze major problems that require complex planning for interrelated activities that can span one or several work units.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in critical and/or unexpected situations involving moderate risk to the organization.
