Make a statewide impact on maternal and infant health. Join the Louisiana Department of Health's Project M.O.M. (Maternal Overdose Mortality) initiative and help lead efforts to reduce pregnancy-associated opioid overdose deaths while improving outcomes for mothers and infants across Louisiana. This position serves as project coordination and operational support resource for Project M.O.M., a high-priority initiative established by the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health to reduce pregnancy-associated opioid overdose deaths and improve maternal and infant health outcomes statewide. The position is responsible for coordinating project activities, supporting implementation efforts, monitoring deliverables, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring alignment among internal and external stakeholders. In this collaborative role, you'll coordinate high-impact projects, engage with healthcare and community partners, support grant and program implementation, and help drive innovative public health initiatives that make a lasting difference in communities statewide.

This position will be filled as a part-time WAE appointment. When Actually Employed (WAE) appointments are temporary and may last up to a year. Employees can only work a total of 1,245 hours within a 12-month period. 

Qualifications

Job Duties:

Due to the unique and temporary nature of Project M.O.M., the position requires flexibility to respond to evolving project priorities, legislative directives, funding opportunities, and stakeholder needs. The work involves coordination of specialized public health initiatives that are not part of the Department's ongoing classified operations and requires a dedicated project-focused position to support implementation, accountability, and achievement of statewide program goals.

  • Manages program compliance by maintaining program data
  • Overseeing website content and updates
  • Coordinating contract review activities
  • Facilitating telecommunications and procurement processes
  • Administering property and travel logistics and preparing reports
  • Providing administrative support
  • Delivering technical assistance to ensure efficient, compliant, and coordinated operations across all regions
