Brief Job Description:

Works under supervision from the Immunization Information Systems (IIS) System Analytics Team Manager, within the Provider Support Team in the IIS Unit. The Provider Support Team is responsible for data quality assurance and process improvements for Texas Immunization Registry providers and users. Position will process organization registrations and renewal documents while ensuring data completeness and accuracy of information. Assists with user or provider access issues pertaining to the Immunization Section ecosystem. Develops, tests, and implements new and existing functionality and enhancements within the Immunizaiton Section ecosystem. Collaborate with staff within the IIS Unit and overall Immunization Section on provider access, issues pertaining to access, and functionality.

Essential Job Functions

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. 
 

(40%) Reviews, processes, and troubleshoots with providers registering or renewing their intent to use the Texas Immunization Registry. Reviews registration and renewal documents for completeness and accuracy. Coordinates with other members of the IIS Unit including the Interoperability Team to assist providers with their intent to register or renew with the registry. Provides technical support to providers with their registration and renewal documents and system navigation. Provides technical support to registry users gaining and troubleshooting access to the Immunization System ecosystem. Liaison with the Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) program to support new and existing providers with access to the registry.  
 
(25%) Reviews provider and user access requests for missing, duplicate, or outdated information. Performs quality assurance checks on provider and organization data within the Immunization System ecosystem. Responds to inquiries from private and public immunization partners from the field, as well as from the public-at-large. Provides comprehensive customer service while speaking to registry providers and users over the phone.  
 
(20%) Documents and communications Immunization System ecosystem bugs or enhancements needed for program operations. Works with vendor contractors on testing and implementation of functions and enhancements into the Immunization System ecosystem. Assists with the documentation and updating of policies and standard operating procedures to guide operations.  
 
(10%) Recommends plans and tracks enhancements aimed at improving the IIS user and provider experience. Assists with comprehensive planning, policy development, and technical consultation to achieve program goals. 
Contributes to the design and development of IIS functions and enhancements. 
 
(5%) Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

  • Ability to identify and define customer needs; gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts; and devise solutions to problems. 

  • Ability to accurately perform data entry, analysis of data, and prepare concise and accurate reports. 

  • Ability to develop and evaluate processes and procedures; interpret complex policies, procedures, and regulations; and communicate them clearly and effectively to others. 

  • Ability to use independent judgment and to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. 

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with supervisory personnel, co-workers, health professionals, and the public.

Initial Screening Criteria:

High School Diploma, GED, associate degree, or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Experience in public health, healthcare, or a related field demonstrated through employment history.

Additional Information:

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. HHS agencies use E-Verify. You must bring I-9 documentation with you on your first day of work. The full salary range may not be offered due to budget limitations.
