Job Overview:

The South Central Region of the Tennessee Department of Health provides women's health services, as well as primary care services, in the eleven-county region surrounding Maury County. These clinics are staffed by both physicians and advanced practice nurses and serve the uninsured population. This position will be based at the Maury County Health Department in Columbia but will work in surrounding county Health Departments providing both women's health and primary care services. Travel time and expenses are reimbursed. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care.

  • Follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations.

  • Be available to consult with other department staff.

  • Provide APN supervision and perform monthly chart reviews.

  • Follow professional development directives from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners, including having and maintaining a valid unrestricted medical license.

  • Participate in county and regional based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license.

  • Residency training in either Family Medicine or General Internal Medicine.

  • Valid Tennessee driver's license and available transportation as position involves work in more than one health department.
