The Bureau of Maternal, Child, and Family Health (BMCFH)/ Complex Medical Help (CMH) is organized to support families by improving birth outcomes and the health status of women, infants, children, and youth, including children and youth with complex health care needs. Using data and proven practice, the bureau’s programs support the delivery of direct services, linkages and referrals, population-based supports, program evaluation, education, monitoring and quality oversight, and policy and systems development.

What You'll Do:
Are you organized, detail-oriented and passionate about supporting programs that make a difference? The Ohio Department of Health is seeking to fill THREE Office Professional 2 positions to provide administrative and records management support for the Complex Medical Help (CMH) program. Key responsibilities are: 

  • Enter and maintain medical and financial documentation in electronic record and document management systems. 
  • Prepare, format, proofread and update a variety of documents using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Review records for accuracy and completeness, identify discrepancies, and update information as needed. 
  • Search, compile, organize and summarize information to support reports and program operations.
  • Maintain confidential client health and fiscal records in compliance with HIPAA, agency policies and established procedures. 
  • Receive, log, index and track incoming medical and financial documents within the agency's document management system.
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems and retrieve records to fulfill information requests. 
  • Update case record information and document locations. 
  • Process incoming main and scanned documents, including preparing records for electronic conversion, indexing, and storage. 
  • Generate routing correspondence, prepare copies and support general office and administrative functions.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and coordination of office equipment maintenance.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be confined to work area for long periods of time; may perform high-volume, repetitive tasks with short turnaround.

6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in using personal computer & related business office software AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures. 

OR 

6 mos. exp. as Office Professional 1, 12141.

Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Educational Transcript Requirements:

ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION.
Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 26, Step 1 of the OCSEA union Pay Range Schedule ($21.83 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($22.29) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
