Medical Certification Program Manager

This leadership role provides the opportunity to oversee complex statewide regulatory programs, serve as a subject matter expert on state and federal healthcare requirements, and ensure fair, timely resolution of disputes that protect providers, patients, and the public.

Requirements

A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus four years of experience as a licensed practitioner in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

Job Duties:
  • Direct and oversee the Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR), Administrative Sanction Reconsideration, and Informal Hearing processes, ensuring timely and consistent case management. 
  • Review and evaluate requests for dispute resolution, assign cases, communicate final determinations, and maintain records of program outcomes and performance. 
  • Interpret and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and policies while providing guidance to healthcare providers, clients, and program stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with the Office of Legal Counsel on regulatory matters, legislative interpretation, and court proceedings, including providing testimony to support departmental actions. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. 
  • Design, develop, and deliver statewide training programs and educational materials to support staff development, policy implementation, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Assess organizational training needs, evaluate training effectiveness, and collaborate with statewide leadership to implement continuous process improvements and workforce development initiatives.
