Medical Certification Program Manager

Requirements

A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus four years of experience as a licensed practitioner in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

Job Duties:
  • Direct statewide operations and oversight of the Non-Long Term Care/Long-Term Care Complaint Program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. 
  • Review, evaluate, and resolve healthcare facility complaints by analyzing investigative findings and determining regulatory compliance. 
  • Make licensing, certification, enforcement, and sanction recommendations based on comprehensive reviews of provider documentation, investigations, and applicable regulations. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain program policies, procedures, and operational plans to support effective complaint investigations and regulatory compliance. 
  • Provide technical guidance and regulatory interpretation to healthcare providers, consumers, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding licensing and certification requirements. 
  • Consult with healthcare facility leadership to promote compliance with state and federal standards and review corrective action plans to ensure deficiencies are resolved. 
  • Represent the Louisiana Department of Health at hearings, conferences, committee meetings, and with state, federal, and professional organizations as the program's subject matter expert.
