Under supervision, analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced systems. Supports the user community in the use of functional business tools and support systems.

Requirements

  • Serves as liaison between business customers and project team in the design and implementation of automated information systems for the Immunization Sections’ Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS).
  • Analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design and implementation of new or enhanced systems.
  • Work with Providers and EMR vendors in managing HL7 data exchange with GRITS.
  • Serve in a technical leadership role in the GRITS User Groups.
  • Provide customer support in the maintenance of GRITS System.
  • Minimum travel is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience providing information and referral services to the public.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR associate degree in a related field and Two years of related experience.
  • Experience as a lead worker, an associate business analyst, or equivalent in an appropriate programmatic area.
  • Experience in oral and written communications as it is associated with knowledge sharing of web-based applications.
  • Experience with HL7 information-sharing transactions.
  • Experience with HIPAA requirements as they are applicable to immunization records.
  • Experience with ACIP adult and childhood immunization schedules.
  • Experience with public health and/or clinical systems.

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity can be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

Employment Information

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.

The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
