HOURLY PHARMACIST

PART-TIME POSITION


Under direct supervision, performs a variety of Pharmacy duties according to nurse protocol orders, making sure the correct dosage, strength, and quality is used. This is a part time position working up to 29 hours per week during health department hours with the possibility of occasional after-business hours work. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

  • Manage medication inventory; which includes monthly and annual inventory for the district pharmacy and annual inventory for the other 11 sites. 
  • Compiling data for state reports and submitting reports to the appropriate state office of pharmacy staff. 
  • Communication with state office of pharmacy team. 
  • Processing monthly health department medication orders and interim medication orders; which includes breaking down stock bottles, counting and labeling medication for health department administration and dispensing. 
  • Separation of district pharmacy inventory by purchasing grant. 
  • Label and dispense IUDs. 
  • Return expired and recalled medications. 
  • Communicate with district drug coordinator about needed medication stock and any pharmacy issues. 
  • Learning the treatment options listed in the nurse protocol. 
  • Learn and practice requirements of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) law. 
  • Learn, adhere to and become a subject matter expert of 340B requirements.
  • Annual training requirements for district and state employees. 
  • Involvement in any emergency response that would require administration or dispensing of medication. 
  • Deliver monthly medication orders, if needed.

Qualifications

Doctorate or professional degree in pharmacology from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license to practice pharmacology.
