Finance Officer (Onsite)

The Metro Public Health Department of Nashville and Davidson County (MPHD) is seeking an energetic and experienced Finance Officer to join our dedicated Finance Division team. Our staff is responsible for financial management, accounts payable and procurement for the Metro Public Health Department.

Requirements

  • Performs duties including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, travel arrangements and reimbursement.
  • Studies and verifies accurate financial information. Will prepare financial reports utilizing data from Oracle and other reports as needed. 
  • Researches, interprets, analyzes and resolves financial problems.
  • Reviews invoices for accuracy internally and with community partners.
  • Handles routine questions regarding finance related activities.
  • Performs other administrative and financially related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level.  Employees would typically have a Bachelors’ Degree in a financial related field.
 
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government’s employment-based immigration programs.

Valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
