Environmental Resources Specialist 2

This position is the primary lead for issuing operator certifications and the secondary lead for issuing well driller and pump installer certifications. Duties include assisting operators to renew and upgrade their certifications and answering inquiries about the WV codes, rules and regulations. Responsible for processing applications and payments for operator certification fees, well driller and pump installer certifications, mailing certification ID cards and certificates. 

Must create the operator’s profiles, make folders for the applicants and enter all certification data into the national CertTracker and Safe Drinking Water Information System databases. Required to complete mandatory training as assigned and attend monthly meetings for CEH review. Must represent the program by presenting and leading seminars related to operator certification and operator regulations.

Qualifications

Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

OR

Substitution: Additional full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.

AND

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the acquisition, preservation, protection and enhancement of environmental/natural resources, environmental protection or in an agency-specific area related to environmental impact.

OR

Substitution: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of fifteen (15) semester hours for every one (1) year of experience.
