The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

Make a statewide impact by helping shape and strengthen Louisiana's Economic Stability programs. In this role, you'll collaborate with state and federal partners, provide policy guidance, and help ensure critical programs such as SNAP, FITAP, KCSP, SUN Bucks, and D-SNAP are administered effectively and in compliance with federal and state regulations. Requirements

Seven years of economic stability social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of economic stability social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of economic stability social services experience; OR

An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus three years of economic stability social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

·   Reviews and monitors Federal and State legislation, regulations, and policy guidance to identify potential impacts on Agency programs and automated systems; summarizes findings and provides input to higher-level management for consideration. 

·   Supports the preparation and updating of policy and procedural manuals and training materials, used by Field Operations staff to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with approved program policy. Assists with the development of State Plans and Administrative Code provisions. 

·   Provides routine interpretation and clarification of established program policies to LDH Field staff, ES Administration sections, Quality Control, Fraud and Recovery, Appeals, and other internal stakeholders, escalating complex or unresolved issues to higher-level management as appropriate. 

·   Assists with the review and analysis of Quality Control error cases by identifying trends, documenting findings, and supporting the development and tracking of corrective action activities. 

·   Supports budget-related activities by compiling data, tracking program expenditures, and assisting with the preparation of Federal and State budget requests related to program administration and benefit issuance. 

·   Participates in audits, reviews, and monitoring activities conducted by State and Federal entities by gathering requested information, preparing draft responses, and assisting with follow-up activities related to corrective actions. 

·   Represents LDH on internal workgroups, committees, and meetings related to ES programs and policy initiatives, as assigned.
