CSR-Glynn EH

 Performs a variety of customer service and clerical support functions in a busy Environmental Health Department office. May resolve complicated issues involving customer service and researching governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
 Incumbent must be able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast paced environment, be proficient with computers and a variety of software programs, appropriately handle customer service issues and manage customer demands.

 All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.


Requirements

Provides helpful, efficient, customer service to each customer in a respectful and compassionate manner
Analyzes problems, questions, issues, etc and develops and reports recommendations for resolving them
Conducts research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns
Researches and/or resolves program or client issues or questions May represent the manager in various matters
Answers main phone line for Environmental Health and greets customers to receive payments and plans.
Creates records and enters data into electronic database and runs reports as needed 

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED AND 12 months of experience handling customer's questions, complaints and/or providing information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in customer service
  • 1 to 3 years of experience of handling money and taking payments
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with data entry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Background in Public Health or Science related field
