Job Description

Position Summary

As an Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful projects that make a real difference. You won’t just observe—you’ll actively participate, learn from experienced mentors, and see how your work helps move the team forward. You will undertake a variety of assignments and projects in support of program efforts.

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions

  • Provide staff support for the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Action Committee by working with staff and partners to recruit new members, planning agendas and collaborating on activities and events.
  • Provide staff support in the planning and execution of the statewide campaign for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
  • Provide staff support in preparing for annual quality assurance site visits, reporting, and evaluation efforts.
  • Provide staff support in the coordination efforts of the Oklahoma Family Support Network and ongoing special projects.
  • Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Public Health, Education, Family and Child Studies, Human Development, or a similar field.

Valued Knowledge, skills and abilities

Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Basic proficiency in relevant tools or software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).

Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to follow instructions and take initiative on tasks.

Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a professional environment.

Ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this internship. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
