Position Description:

This position is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and support of Microsoft Power Apps–based solutions and related automation within OSDH. The role focuses on building low-code applications, optimizing business processes, and ensuring high-quality, sustainable technology solutions through the Microsoft Power Platform.

 

Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Review existing business processes and collaborate with program areas to identify opportunities for improvement and automation using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and related technologies.
• Evaluate, document, and analyze current information-processing methods, including workflows, user touchpoints, notifications, reminders, data capture requirements, and reporting needs.
• Work with OSDH Program Areas, Directors, and OMES resources to gather requirements, translate needs into technical specifications, and create solution designs.
• Develop Power Apps solutions including forms, mobile/desktop applications, automated workflows, approval processes, and integrated business logic.
• Integrate Power Apps with SharePoint, SQL, Dataverse, email, and other enterprise systems as required.
• Enhance the quality, usability, and reliability of OSDH technology solutions through testing, validation, and continuous process improvement.
• Analyze and optimize solution architecture, business models, and technical system design to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Assist with sourcing, assessing, and implementing new business technologies relevant to workflow automation and low‑code solutions.
• Effectively communicate business needs to technical stakeholders and translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
• Serve as a liaison between OSDH and OMES to support successful solution development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Produce reports, status updates, and documentation for leadership and executive audiences.
• Maintain an understanding of technology integration requirements across systems, applications, and data sources.
• Create and maintain solution documentation, user guides, training materials, and support resources as automations are built or updated.
• Continuously evaluate automated processes for usability, accuracy, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
• Provide technical assistance and user support for SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and other Microsoft technologies used in OSDH workflows.
• Develop automated processes to replace manual operations, including service request forms, workflows, user notifications, deadline reminders, dashboards, and performance reporting.
• Consult with and support agency staff developing their own automations, providing best‑practice guidance and technical assistance.
• Develop and implement governance, standards, lifecycle management plans, and procedures for Power Platform solutions
• Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR equivalent developer experience.

OR

• Two years of experience in Power Platform development (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and/or Robotic Process Automation.

OR

• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience with database management and SQL.
  Experience in report creation and basic CSS. An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of process‑documentation methods including workflows, touchpoints, reminders, notifications, and reporting.
• Understanding of process automation design principles and strategic planning methods.
  Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (canvas/model‑driven), Power Automate (cloud/desktop flows), and Power BI.
• Skilled in report development, analytical methods, written and verbal communication, problem solving, and attention to detail.
• Ability to translate raw data into usable information and insights.
• Ability to understand business reporting needs and convert them into practical solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline‑driven environment with limited supervision.
• Ability to produce accurate, timely, high‑quality work products.
• Ability to establish strong working relationships and provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with climate control and moderate noise levels. Duties require standing, walking, talking, and the use of hands and arms. The role involves long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Must be able to complete all job related travel associated with the position. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
