This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and will remain open until filled. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?

 
This position will serve as a point of contact for patient registration and provide clerical support to NMRC staff and visitors.

How does it get done?

 
Duties may include but are not limited to: admissions, scheduling, registration, verifying insurance coverage, initiating prior authorizations, collections, client possessions, and obtaining financial information. Incumbent will ensure all admission forms are completed timely including all prior authorizations. All requested financial information will be entered into the electronic medical record for all payer sources and admission types. This position will maintain pre-admission, admission forms, assemble charts for medical records, business office, file, fax, and answer phones.

New Mexico Rehabilitation Center staff and patients.

Ideal Candidate

 
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Speak clearly and concisely over the phone. Worked with confidential files or data. Worked on multiple projects at the same time. Must be able to entering data into a computer,  perform collections,  filing records, be able to sending and receiving faxes and answering telephone calls.

Minimum Qualification

 
No prior experience or training required.

Employment Requirements

 
Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC), and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate within 45 days as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
