How you make a difference in this role:

The Admin Services Assistant will be the primary point of contact for receiving, triaging, opening, and processing all complaints submitted to OIV. This position is also responsible for accurately delivering, retrieving, and distributing office mail, including properly stamping and organizing all incoming and outgoing correspondence. In addition, the Admin Services Assistant will ensure consistent telephone coverage for the Office of Investigations during business hours. The selected candidate will also attend each public health related board meeting and present the Office of Investigations' report.

Job Overview:

The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an Admin Services Assistant 3 (ASA3) to serve as an intake coordinator for the Health-Related Boards in the Office of Investigations (OIV). The duties for this position include retrieving, reviewing, processing, evaluating, and opening complaints filed against healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Admin Services Assistant will be the primary point of contact for receiving, triaging, opening, and processing all complaints submitted to OIV. This position is also responsible for accurately delivering, retrieving, and distributing office mail, including properly stamping and organizing all incoming and outgoing correspondence. In addition, the Admin Services Assistant will ensure consistent telephone coverage for the Office of Investigations during business hours. The selected candidate will also attend each public health related board meeting and present the Office of Investigations' report.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree AND experience equivalent to three years of increasingly responsible full-time professional staff administrative experience. Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time, increasingly responsible sub-professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years. Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in public administration, business administration, or other acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years. OR Two years of increasingly responsible professional administrative services experience with the State of Tennessee.
