Administrative Program Specialist B

The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana 

ELMHS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in the CFS department.

Requirements

Four years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR

An advanced degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Court Related- Prepares cases by drafting pleadings. Composes briefs, memoranda, and other legal correspondence such as Civil Judicial Commitment petitions and court orders and/or judgments for commitment of patient for the local Court.
  • Hospital Admissions- Gathers information needed for the completion of all required documents prior to hospital admission, as outlined in La.C.Crm.Pro.Art 648.1.
  •  Administrative Management- Maintains databases to manage the Court-ordered Consent Decree waiting list and compliance with other federal court mandates under minimal supervision from the CFS Director.
  • Miscellaneous- Assures compliance of hospital and departmental regulations and guidelines regarding completion of required training classes.
