The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

The Administrative Assistant 3 supports the Fraud and Recovery Unit by coordinating daily administrative activities, processing mail and payments, and assisting with client inquiries. This position also provides valuable administrative support to the Economic Stability Section, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, and ready to make a difference.

Requirements

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

·  Provide administrative and clerical support to the Fraud and Recovery Unit and assist Program Managers with routine administrative duties. 

·  Prepare, review, proofread, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, meeting materials, agendas, handouts, and other documents. 

·  Coordinate meetings, workshops, conference calls, and related logistics, including scheduling and maintaining the unit’s Outlook calendar. 

·  Maintain organized office files, records, inventories, and equipment; prepare supply requisitions and track related purchases and records. 

·  Process incoming and outgoing mail and documents, including receiving, date-stamping, classifying, copying, and distributing materials as appropriate. 

·  Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to inquiries, take messages, and coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure timely responses. 

·  Serve as a liaison between supervisors, staff, and Telecommunications to coordinate telephone system requests, repairs, additions, and related equipment or billing issues.
