What You Will Be Doing:
As the Training Specialist 1 (TS 1) with the Case Accuracy and Analysis Team in DPA’s Learning and Development team, you will conduct case reviews, analyze data, evaluate others' reviews, and provide feedback. Your role will support Continuous Quality Improvement by identifying error trends with division leadership. This position requires analytical thinking, knowledge of DPA policies and procedures, and understanding of compliance with State and Federal regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to teach others and to interact effectively with division staff and professionals.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
The work site will be located in the community of hire. Your work site will be in one of the eleven DPA offices (Anchorage, Bethel, Fairbanks, Juneau, Homer, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Nome, Sitka, or Wasilla), and you will utilize video technology to interact with staff statewide.

Training or education in training and development, human resources, education, instructional design, business administration, social sciences, or a related field;
 AND/OR
Experience in the training-subject and/or the agencies’ programs; human resources; teaching or facilitating learning; assisting with developing or revising training materials, assisting in assessing training needs, and/or assisting in evaluating training effectiveness.

“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
 
“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

The State of Alaska uses four proficiency levels to measure and describe an applicant’s level of competence in applying certain behaviors, knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish a specific task.
