Central Louisiana State Hospital, located in Pineville, Louisiana, is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Education Department as a Training and Development Program Manager who manages a training program, including multiple functions such as needs assessment, post-course evaluation, administrative activities, development of policies and procedures, and new course development.

The Training and Development Program Manager plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients, and ensuring our facilities are maintained accordingly. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

Requirements

Six years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or social services; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or social services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or social services; OR

An advanced degree in education, instructional design, business or public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior or human resources plus two years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or social services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTIONS:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information:

  • Directly supervises employees in the Education and Training Section to ensure the successful implementation of hospital wide orientation and training for all CLSH employees, including contracted employees that is required for the hospital to maintain accreditation by TJC, certification by CMS, and licensure by LDH.   

  • Coordinates, plans, develops, and conducts new employee orientation and annual staff training event and any other training initiatives.  Teach and serve as backup to other assigned trainers to teach mandatory classes as required by the facility.                            

  • Plans, develops, conducts and monitors facility wide, ongoing multidisciplinary education and training.  

  • Advises and assists administration and department directors regarding education requirements.   

  • Determines staff and equipment needs to facilitate the provision of educational programs.  

  • Coordinates, plans, develops and monitors facility wide use of Louisiana Employees Online (LEO).   

  • Runs and monitors compliance and qualification reports in LEO.  

  • Plans, develops, and hosts facility specific education courses in LEO.  

  • Instructs the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention program for hospital staff.

  • Maintains trainer qualification and certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life   Support and Crisis Prevention and Intervention Techniques (CPI) courses for professional and non-professional hospital staff and instructs staff in accordance with certification.

  • Coordinates preparation of scheduled events, including assisting other instructors/presenters with setting up audio/visual and computer components.

  • Plans, coordinates, and schedules CPTP, ORM and LDH training for the facility. Assures online classes are updated as required.

Compensation: This position has a minimum hire rate of $1,892.00 bi-weekly.
