Social Services Analyst 1-3 (Region 8)

Make a meaningful impact by helping individuals overcome barriers and achieve stability. As a Social Service Analyst 1–3, you’ll interpret and apply complex federal, state, and local regulations while guiding clients through program requirements and available resources. You’ll conduct in-depth client interviews to assess work history, education, abilities, and goals, then serve as a case manager—documenting findings, coordinating services, and developing solutions that support successful participation. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy problem-solving, client engagement, and using policy knowledge to create positive, real-world outcomes.

Requirements

Three years of experience in social services; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Interprets and applies complex federal, state and local laws and regulations, program directives, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Interviews clients/applicants to obtain information, assess employment and educational history, work abilities, and training interests in order to determine the support services needed.
  • Serves as case manager for assigned caseload by recording findings, recommendations and services provided; completes case record forms and any necessary correspondence in connection with assigned cases.
  • Explains program to applicants and discusses its rules and procedures, assesses clients' willingness and ability to comply with program mandates, identifies barriers to participation, and selects resources to eliminate barriers.
  • Monitors program participation to determine compliance and takes appropriate action to ensure that participants fulfill program obligations.
  • May assist with representing the agency on client appeals and appeal hearings by compiling the Summary of Evidence and other agency documentation.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a Probationary appointment, Promotional appointmentJob appointment (temporary appointment that may last up to 48 months), Detail to Special Duty, 

Career Progression:  This position may be filled as a Social Services Analyst 1, 2, or 3 determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

Compensation: This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr for hours worked based on longevity.

Social Services Analyst 2 - $17.56 hr / $1,404.80 bi-weekly
Social Services Analyst 3 - $21.27 hr / $1,701.60 bi-weekly
