What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will review and process applications for Community First Choice (CFC), Personal Care Services (PCS), Medicaid Waiver, and General Relief programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program requirements. You will be the primary point of contact for inquiries from SDS assessors, providers, agencies, staff, and clients across Alaska, using the Senior and Disabilities Services (SDS) data system (Harmony) to provide timely and accurate information. Under general direction, you will assist professionals in managing and administering these programs, providing paraprofessional support to help ensure services are delivered effectively. Your work will include providing clear guidance to the public about program eligibility and requirements, as well as researching statutes, regulations, and policies to confirm their applicability to the programs you support. At times, you may also take on lead worker responsibilities, coordinating tasks and supporting team members to maintain smooth operations.

 This position involves occasional travel within the state of Alaska.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located in Anchorage.
The office is located in Northeast Anchorage (1835 Bragaw Street). It is near Costco, East High School, various restaurants, and a coffee shop.  Parking is readily available at the office. 
You will work closely with other members in both the Division and the Department of Health.
There may be an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule once you have successfully passed the probation period.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent:
AND
Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration or a closely related field.

Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.
