New Mexico Department of Health's Turquoise Lodge Hospital (TLH) is a facility that provides substance abuse treatment services to New Mexico residents. We specialize in medical detoxification, social rehabilitation services, and Intensive Outpatient services.

TLH is a fun and energetic facility that provides support to patients with substance abuse issues. Our Psych and Nurse Tech's are rewarding positions that encourage staff to interact with patients in a meaningful way.

Why does the job exist?

 
This position, under the direction of nursing staff, will provide direct patient care that may include, specialized activities, group monitoring and patient transportation for adults with addictions and substance dependence at Turquoise Lodge Hospital. As an important and valued team member, will problem solve and collaborate with other disciplines in the hospital to provide quality care and support for the patients.

How does it get done?

 
Our Nurse and Psych Tech's work as part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with clinical, educational and other milieu staff. Duties may include but are not limited to helping patients develop life skills, recreation and social activities and re-directing patient behavior. Responsibilities are centered around supporting patient through program, facilitating educational classes, supervising patients for safety, and providing support in a structured environment. Provides culturally appropriate trauma informed recovery-oriented care and interventions for patients. Turquoise Lodge is a 24/7 facility.

Who are the customers?

 
Adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.

Ideal Candidate

 
Patient care experience preferred.

Minimum Qualification

 
High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.
