ABOUT NACDD
The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) is a member-based Association that improves the health of the public by strengthening state-based leadership and expertise for chronic disease prevention and management. NACDD’s core membership is composed of the 59 State and Territorial Health Department Chronic Disease Directors and their staff who protect the health of the public through primary and secondary prevention efforts and work upstream on root causes of chronic conditions. In addition, NACDD unites 7,000 chronic disease professionals across the United States working in state, tribal, and territorial health departments; nonprofits; academia; and the private industry to promote health and reduce the burden of chronic disease. Position Summary
The National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Learning Experience Administrator to lead the evolution and optimization of our learning management system (LMS). This role is pivotal in advancing NACDD’s professional development initiatives by ensuring the LMS is robust, user-friendly, and aligned with instructional design best practices.
Reporting directly to the Senior Professional Development Manager, the Sr. Learning Experience Administrator will bring deep technical expertise, a strong background in instructional design, and a proactive approach to system administration and content strategy. While this role does not have direct reports, it requires cross-functional collaboration and leadership to drive innovation and excellence in e-Learning delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Strategic LMS Oversight
- Lead the configuration, implementation, and continuous improvement of the LMS platform (Brightspace/D2L);
- Develop and execute a long-term roadmap for LMS enhancements aligned with NACDD’s learning strategy;
- Serve as the primary liaison with LMS vendors and internal collaborators;
Instructional Design & Content Management
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop, and deploy engaging, SCORM-compliant e-Learning content;
- Apply instructional design principles to optimize course structure, learner engagement, and accessibility;
- Oversee content lifecycle management, including version control, updates, and archiving;
System Administration & Technical Leadership
- Manage day-to-day LMS operations including user management, course setup, reporting, and troubleshooting;
- Ensure seamless integration between the LMS and other NACDD systems (e.g., Association Management System, website);
- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to maintain system integrity and performance;
User Experience & Support
- Provide advanced support to internal teams and external learners, resolving complex technical issues;
- Monitor learner engagement and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement;
- Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and onboarding resources;
Data & Reporting
- Generate and analyze LMS usage reports to evaluate program effectiveness and inform decision-making;
- Maintain accurate records of user data, certifications, and course completions;
Organizational Engagement
- Participate in cross-departmental committees and working groups to advance NACDD’s strategic priorities;
- Support organizational initiatives by providing LMS expertise for events, programs, and member engagement activities;
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc assignments that align with NACDD’s mission and operational goals.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field;
- Minimum 7 years of experience administering LMS platforms, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role;
- Expertise in Brightspace/D2L or comparable LMS and SCORM authoring tools;
- Strong technical troubleshooting and systems integration skills;
- Proven experience applying instructional design methodologies in digital learning environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public health, nonprofit, or government sectors;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and Smartsheet;
- Experience managing grant-funded learning programs.
LOCATION:
- Must be located in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, or Washington;
- REMOTE - Must be available to travel periodically, as needed.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Up to 10%
SALARY RANGE:
- $85,000 -$95,000
