The New Mexico Department of Health works in many ways to promote, preserve and protect our health.  The ITSD supports many programs within DOH all of which provide some of the most requested and important services we provide to our customers.

Why does the job exist?

 
The purpose of this position within the ADSB team in the Information Technology Services Division will be to serve as the Senior Senior IT Application Developer for the New Mexico Department of Health.

How does it get done?

 
The key responsibilities of this position are as follows -

1.  Provide support and assist various facility application for the New Mexico Department of Health
2.  Maintenance and Support of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems - Avatar and PCC
3.  Maintenance and Support of EHR Peripheral systems such as Pharmacy, Medicine dispensing systems, etc.

Who are the customers?

 
This position supports the Facilities Applications such as EHRs, Pharmacy systems, accounting systems, etc., for all the Department of Health Facilities.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal candidate would possess all of the following skills -

1.  Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems - Configuring and Customizing
2.  Experience performing System Administration tasks
3.  Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Query Development
4.  Experience writing Crystal Reports or SQL Reporting Services
5.  Possess a strong analytical, organizational and information Technology skills
6.  Strong Oral and written communication skills

Minimum Qualification

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and three (3) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

 
Working conditions can be described as follows -

Work is performed in an Office setting
Exposure to Visual/ Video Display Terminal (VDT)
Extensive personal computer and Telephone usage with extended periods of sitting
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
