Why does the job exist?

 
This position is critical to the daily operations of the agency's bank deposits and is responsible for working with all divisions to ensure all preparation of the accuracy of the division's revenue forms for posting into SHARE Financial - Accounts Receivable Module in a timely manner. Communicates with Division and programs to resolve any deposit discrepancies. Works closely with Cash Manager on conducting extensive research requests.

How does it get done?

 
The position is responsible for reviewing, researching, analyzing, and correcting financial data and reports of the General Ledger, Trial Balance, and the Journal Entries. This is achieved by  ensuring all revenue forms contain the correct information such as fund department ID, account, sub accounts etc and by verifying the deposit slips or the ACH Wire Bank addenda. Research all discrepancies with information or amount of deposits. Post all deposits for DOH into SHARE Financial. Verify all bank and desktop deposits are made within 24 hours of receipt of payment according to MAPS. Reconciliation is completed by downloading Excel queries to assess the appropriateness of deposits activities posted, identify and analyze account balances variances to make correct journal entries and have the ability to prepare financial data into usable reports and then analyze the information. The position requires good communication and able to provide assistance as needed. Other duties are assigned.

Who are the customers?

 
The customer will be DOH Divisions and Program including Internal and External auditors.

Ideal Candidate

 
1. Knowledge of SHARE Financials.
2. Knowledge application of GAAP ad Maps.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel Spreadsheet.
4. Must have extensive research skills and able to utilize multiple websites.
5. Experience prepared and coordinate reconciliation.
6. Strong oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualification

 
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and/or budgeting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
