Requirements

Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, conducts inspections and determines compliance with public health rules and regulations governing public swimming pools.   Inspects assigned swimming pools and performs accurate collection and testing of pool water samples.  Initiates enforcement action when warranted.   Communicates inspection results to pool operators, coworkers, and supervisors.  Enters inspection results into the Environmental Health database in a timely manner.  Maintains an accurate daily activity report and vehicle mileage log.  Maintains a sufficient working supply of pool water testing reagents and inspection report forms. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.  Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle for transportation to inspections
                         
Preferred QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a laboratory science or public health-based program at a college or university
 
Salary Information: $18.00 per hr.  40 Hrs./ week | No Benefits
