This is more than a nursing job; it is a leadership role. You will be a mentor to our nursing team, a teacher for new staff, and a powerful advocate for our residents. Beyond daily patient care, you will oversee clinical programs, help develop new medical protocols, and ensure our care standards are the best they can be. Guiding and supporting staff nurses to ensure high-quality care and positive resident outcomes.
Developing and managing clinical care plans to ensure every resident receives appropriate medical treatment.
Leading staff orientations and training sessions to keep the team current on nursing skills and facility protocols.
Collaborating with doctors, families, and specialists to resolve complex clinical issues and advocate for resident goals.
Performing advanced nursing assessments, treatments, and evaluations for residents.
Managing special projects, including the development of new facility policies and care programs.
Participating in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure nursing coverage and support.
Requirements
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
**Completion of WLRC internal Greenhouse training and completion of Lippencott requirements related to mental health and psychiatric health is required within six months of the date of employment in this position.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of advanced nursing practices and how to create medical care plans.
Ability to lead, teach, and mentor a team of healthcare professionals.
Knowledge of state and federal rules for nursing facilities (ICF and SNF).
Ability to stay calm and make smart decisions during a medical or behavioral crisis.
Skills in positive communication with residents, families, and other medical providers.
Ability to organize nursing schedules to make sure our residents always have coverage.
Knowledge of safety procedures like First Aid, CPR (BLS), and infection control.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to safely move (twisting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling), position and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities.
- Ability to monitor resident sounds, noises, location, etc. in order to ensure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
- Ability to perform, CPR, First Aid, Crisis Management, PCM, and utilize proper infection control practices.
- Ability to physically intervene during resident behavior episodes when needed.
- Work evenings, nights, and/or weekends when the situation requires it.

- FLSA: Non-exempt
- The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify.
