The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality care and coordination of nursing services across our programs.

Requirements

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Job Duties:

  • Implements employee health and wellness program for the overall purposes of reducing workplace illnesses, boosting employee morale, and contributing to a more productive and healthy work environment. Focuses on promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees within Pinecrest Supports and Services Center. 
  • Implementing and overseeing various health programs, conducting screenings and immunizations, and providing education and support related to healthy lifestyles. 
  • Provides employee counseling, education and monitoring of tuberculosis, hepatitis, and blood borne pathogen exposure programs. Establish guidelines for screening and monitoring employee health issues to promote optimal prevention of all infectious diseases. Provide relief nurse liaison duties. 
  • Carries out facility infection control duties and requirements including on-site observations, chart reviews, audits, and other quality assurance measures. Assists the RN Program Coordinator for Infection Control relative to complete audit assignments and reconciliation of issues. 
  • Participates in monitoring of patient risk levels. Implements facility policies and procedures for infection control activities, Title XIX Intermediate Care Facility Intellectual Disabilities regulations, Office of Public Health, Center for Disease Control, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.
  • Collects, monitors, and analyzes data relative to infection control. Assists in the preparation of reports of trends and patterns for submission to various teams and committees. Collects infection control-related specimens and prepares for laboratory examination. 
  • Provides professional consultation to staff regarding infection control. Participates in on-going education through local, state, and national infection control resource organizations. Assist IDT teams and multi-disciplinary quality improvement teams with quality enhancement and in-service education. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administrator to support the Agency and/or the people we serve.


Position-Specific Details:

Department: LDH Pinecrest – Nursing Dept.  

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by Detail to Special Duty, Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

Career Progression: Vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Registered Nurse 1, 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.   

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday Shift: 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Compensation: This position receives premium pay of $ 10.00 per hour. This position also receives Shift Differential, Longevity Pay, and Additional pay options.  

This position has a Special Entrance Rate: 

Registered Nurse 1  $29.84hr. – $39.01hr.

Registered Nurse 2  $31.93hr. – $41.74hr.

 Registered Nurse 3  $34.17hr. – $44.67hr.
