Public Health Nutritionist Manager

Step into a leadership role that makes a real impact on community health. As a Public Health Nutritionist Manager (Public Health Nutritionist) you’ll lead and shape the delivery of vital nutrition services across Region V, with a primary focus on the WIC program. In this dynamic role, you’ll manage regional program operations, guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team, and ensure families receive high-quality, accessible nutrition support.

You’ll serve as a key liaison between state and regional partners, driving the implementation of nutrition policies while strengthening program quality, outreach, and participant engagement. Requirements

Possession of a permanent Louisiana Dietitian/Nutritionist license plus four years of licensed experience in public health nutrition or dietetics in a clinical setting.

·   Leads and manages regional WIC program operations and nutrition services, ensuring effective implementation of policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives. 

·   Provides supervision, guidance, and performance oversight to multidisciplinary staff, including Public Health Nutritionists, Health Educators, Registered Nurses, and contract personnel. 

·   Ensures program quality and compliance by conducting evaluations, monitoring adherence to state policies, and implementing continuous quality improvement efforts. 

·   Serves as liaison between the WIC State Agency (BONS) and regional/local staff to support consistent interpretation and execution of the Nutrition Services State Plan. 

·   Directs regional strategic planning, including staffing, outreach, service delivery improvements, and identification of gaps to enhance participant outcomes. 

·   Oversees outreach, community partnerships, and emergency response efforts to promote nutrition services, breastfeeding awareness, and meet community needs during disasters. 

·  Manages administrative and operational functions, including budget monitoring, contract oversight, staff training, and serving as a subject matter expert in maternal and child nutrition.
