We are looking for a PSYCHOLOGY POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW PSYCHOLOGIST 2-3 that plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to insure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.

Requirements

A doctorate degree in psychology.

  • Provide and coordinate psychological services for treatment and habilitation in the therapy programs, work areas, and recreational settings. Design and implement programs involving the application of behavior treatment principles and techniques. Monitor and oversee treatment plan developments and implementation. Provide direct assessment and treatment for more complex cases requiring higher level interventions. Design behavioral programs with goals and objectives based on functional analysis. Supervise progress toward achieving reduction in challenging behaviors, improving independence, and increasing the likelihood for discharge. Conduct group, individual, family or other specialized psychotherapy with patients. Coordinate and work with other disciplines to assure coordinated interdisciplinary treatment and care.
  • Administer or review results of full range of diagnostic tests for psychological assessment, interpret results and prepare psychological evaluations. Complete intake assessments on new admissions. Complete intellectual assessments. Perform psychological diagnoses and treatment and participate as a member of a patient's treatment staff discussions of diagnosis, treatment, progress and treatment planning.
  • Train and advises staff in implementing special treatment or rehabilitative programs, in carrying out procedures and recording results. Provide technical consultation and coordination of services to inter-disciplinary staff. Provide technical consultation to staff relative to research and program evaluation. Provide technical consultation to staff training relative to program evaluation and staff training needs. Define resources in terms of staff, materials, and supplies for replacement behaviors, reinforcement programs, and group and individual therapy. Monitor the effectiveness of programming efforts by review of data and progress documentation in patients' records. Coordinate the delivery of services with other departments. Evaluate program efforts and make changes and recommendations. Willingly accepts and performs additional duties and assignments necessary for the smooth operation of the hospital.

Position is located at Central Louisiana State Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana in the Psychology Department. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies that may open within 90 days.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow, Psychologist 2 or Psychologist 3, depending on the level of education and experience of the selected applicant.

Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow has a Special Entrance Rate of $36.56 / hourly.

Psychologist 2 has a Special Entrance Rate of $39.12 / hourly.

Psychologist 3 has a Special Entrance Rate of $44.79 / hourly.
