The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.



This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented, independent professional who enjoys problem-solving, technology, and making a meaningful statewide impact. As the Program Monitor, you will serve as the primary point of contact and technical resource for OCDD’s critical incident management system, supporting users across Louisiana. The role offers a high level of autonomy, hands-on system involvement, and collaboration with multiple partners, including OTS and program staff. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate incident reporting, supporting quality improvement efforts, and helping programs use the system effectively and consistently—making a direct contribution to the safety and well-being of individuals served by OCDD.

Requirements

Five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
  • Serves as the statewide point of contact and primary technical support resource for OCDD’s critical incident management system, providing guidance and troubleshooting assistance to system users.
  • Manages user onboarding and offboarding for the critical incident management system in coordination with the Office of Technology Services (OTS), ensuring appropriate access and security.
  • Independently monitors and manages the designated program email inbox to respond to user inquiries, resolve system issues, and provide timely technical support.
  • Tracks, manages, and resolves onboarding, offboarding, and SIMS-related requests using Monday.com, including completing internal notifications and assigned system tasks.
  • Independently performs manual data corrections within the critical incident management application to resolve system errors and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Completes and disseminates required internal notifications related to designated critical incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Tests system updates, enhancements, and ticket resolutions; supports quality improvement activities; and collaborates with users statewide to promote effective, consistent use of the critical incident management system.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Experience with OCDD’s critical incident management system and project management tools such as Monday.com; demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and technical assistance skills; and possess the ability to independently identify, troubleshoot, and correct system issues. Ideal applicants are self-motivated, highly organized problem-solvers who can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively with teams, and apply quality assurance or quality improvement principles to support system performance.
