PROGRAM MONITOR- LDH (ABUSE/NEGLECT)


The mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs provided include inpatient acute interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.

ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, positive individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills to join our team as a Program Monitor-LDH.

Requirements

Five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

In this role, you will:

  • Abuse/Neglect Case Management (Internal)• Conducts and processes internal Abuse/Neglect investigations for ELMHS. • Once notified of an Abuse/Neglect allegation, begins reviewing/investigating within 24 hours. Examines patient charts, reviews staff documentation of the incident, interviews clients, staff, and witnesses on the units, reviews security footage, etc. Processes findings from internal investigations. Completes Abuse/Neglect report for ELMHS. Composes and submits Final Reports to Human Resources Discipline for course of action. Logs designated Abuse/Neglect cases on Excel spreadsheets for ELMHS TQM tracking purposes. Conducts special studies on incident reports as recommended by the TQM Director, the CEO, or the Clinical Director.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:  The position may be filled as a Probational (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified And Agency-Wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected.
DivisionThe Total Quality Management Department at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, LA.
Compensation:  This position has a Special Interest Rate (SER):  $3,129.60 bi-weekly/ $39.12 hourly.
