Are you passionate about public health and committed to meeting the healthcare needs of underserved Tennesseans? The Tennessee Department of Health is hiring Physicians across multiple County-based Health Departments through an open and continuous recruitment process. This fully outpatient role allows you to deliver high-quality primary care while strengthening population health in communities that need it most.

We're hiring Physicians statewide based in the following regions:

West, South Central, Mid Cumberland, Upper Cumberland, Southeast, East, Northeast

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary and preventive care for patients of all ages
  • Collaborate with and precept mid-level providers to ensure high-quality care
  • Build trust and strong therapeutic relationships to improve patient engagement
  • Apply evidence-based medicine and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and team-based care models

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical program
  • United States citizenship
  • Unrestricted Tennessee medical license
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty
