$55,273 - $82,909 Annually

This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and will remain open until filled. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?

 
Assist with the performance of the specialized treatments according to the treatment plan under the supervision of the prescribing Physical Therapist.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will work with individuals who suffer from physically disabling conditions and assists in the administration of Physical Therapy treatment and interventions to the clients of NMRC.

Who are the customers?

 
All patients referred to NMRC for Physical Therapy rehabilitation.

Ideal Candidate

 
Possess a NM Physical Therapy Assistant License; and knowledge of federal guidelines regarding physical therapy practices.

Minimum Qualification

 
Associate degree in a relevant discipline, certification by passing the exam from the National Board for Certified Physical Therapy Assistant (CPTA) and licensure or application for licensure as a CPTA. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above certification requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education.

Employment Requirements

 
This position is designated a safety sensitive. Must successfully complete post offer preemployment criminal records background check is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in a Rehabilitation Hospital setting, involving extended periods of walking, sitting, standing, and bending. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
