$18.15 - $27.23 Hourly

$37,752 - $56,628 Annually

Why does the job exist?

 
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the primary function of the Pharmacy Technician is to review written prescription orders to determine ingredients and to assure that established procedures have been followed.

How does it get done?

 
Incumbent will fill medication orders, charts, cassettes and carriers as assigned, perform basic pharmaceutical calculations necessary for the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications.

Ideal Candidate

 
Ideal Candidate would have:

-Experience working in pharmacy as a pharmacy technician;

-Experience working with pharmacy billing;

-Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word;

-Currently registered (or eligible for registration) by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.

Minimum Qualification

 
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician as issued by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess a valid Drivers License.

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an office setting, long hours of sitting and extreme computer use required, working in a very high stress level environment, must be able to lift/move a minimum of 25 lbs., may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

This position is designated as safety sensitive and must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check.  Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background check.  Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.  Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
