Pharmacist - Temporary

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI) is seeking a Pharmacist to join our team! This is a temporary position limited to 780 hours per fiscal year with opportunity for advancement.

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacist will primarily complete dispensing duties in an acute psychiatric setting. This position will be responsible for preparing prescription and non-prescription medications and treatments according to state and federal laws. The Pharmacist dispenses medications, monitors drug therapies, and provides consultation to medical and nursing staff. 

This is a temporary position limited to 780 hours per fiscal year. Work hours will vary, depending on facility needs. Applicant must be licensed as a Pharmacist by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners.  

Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.

CMHI provides active inpatient treatment to adults in need of acute psychiatric care. The facility offers several services includingindividualized treatment plans. Support for patients with special education needs to continue their education is provided, and individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. CMHI is located in Cherokee, a city of approximately 5,000 set in the beautiful Little Sioux River Valley in Northwest Iowa. Qualifications

Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners.
