Requirements

Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.  Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
·Assists with conducting comprehensive assessments of client’s health care needs.
·Assists with conducting community needs assessment.
·Identifies high-risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.

External candidateswill be hired as a RN 1 OR RN 2; based on education and/or experience   

Internal candidatesare eligible for a lateral transfer as a RN 2 or RN 3;must be currently working in the same job code

Qualifications

RN 1 Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification..$55,003.33 Annually / Pay Grade K

RN 2 Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent. $61,706.94 Annually / Pay Grade L

RN 3 Minimum Qualifications-Internal OnlyAssociate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 2 (HCP191) or position equivalent.$68,519.83 Annually / Pay Grade M

Preferred Job-Related Skills: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing OR Completed Physical Assessment Course. Professional experience in public health nursing. Excellent customer service skills.
