The Specialty Care Clinic is seeking a Patient Financial Coordinator to support activities that determine Ryan White eligibility and enrollment of clients into the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), Health Insurance Continuation Program (HICP) and other forms of financial assistance. Working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes case management and medical providers, the coordinator will process applications and assume responsibility for ensuring compliance with Ryan White program requirements. 


As a Patient Financial Coordinator within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Requirements

  • Provide benefits counseling, obtain and process documents to certify Ryan White eligibility for ADAP/HICP and other patient assistance programs. 
  • Assist clients with obtaining and processing healthcare plan applications during Open Enrollment.
  • Maintain and monitor CareWare, Data Rx, and other relevant programs daily, weekly, and monthly to track upcoming eligibility, expiration dates, and patient compliance.
  • Coordinate, monitor, track, and evaluate insurance enrollment, premium payments, co-pays, and changes in benefits with individuals, agencies, health insurance carriers, pharmacies, and the contracted Pharmacy Benefits Manager.
  • Perform data entry and documentation in electronic health records and other databases.
  • Provide timely follow-up and communication with clients and staff on important deadlines for certification and recertification of eligibility documents. 
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with case management team to obtain information and refer clients to other services, as appropriate.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience

OR

One (1) year of experience at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent
