Why does the job exist?

 
The primary role is to provide receptionist services in a NMDOH residential facility. This role is the first point of contact for incoming calls and visitors. General job duties to include answering the telephone, directing inquiries and assisting staff and visitors. Complete administrative and resident related activities as assigned.

This position will answer the telephone, direct inquiries, assist staff and visitors, typing, data entry & filing, mail distribution. Complete administrative and resident related activities as assigned.

Who are the customers?

 
Our facility is a secure facility which serves the needs of adolescent males age 13-17 with a history
of violence and aggression.

Ideal Candidate

 
Experience in office administration to include communication skills (telephone and in person), computer skills, customer service skills, multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, organizing and maintaining files, mail distribution.

Minimum Qualification

 
No prior experience or training required.

Employment Requirements

 
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.  

Working Conditions

 
Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
