This is a full time, full benefit eligible position, located in Lowndes County, Georgia.

Requirements

  1. Provides clinical serves to patients with HIV.
  2. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
  3. Develops comprehensive plans of care.
  4. Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  5. Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  6. Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  7. Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients.
  8. Obtains compiles and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
  9. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
  10. Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.
  11. May supervise support and/or lower level employees.

Qualifications

Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND two years of nursing experience AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as a APRN AND current certification in specialty area AND CPR certification.
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.

The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
