Nurse Practitioner I

The Dorchester County Health Department is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide primary health care to students in our Wellness Centers. This position is ideal for clinicians seeking exceptional work-life balance. The role follows the school calendar, offering traditional school holidays, breaks, and significant summer flexibility.

Compensation & Benefits

The full-time (40-hour) equivalent for this state grade is $91,761 – $117,439 (hourly rate of $44.12-$56.46). We offer two flexible scheduling options and your actual pro-rated compensation will be:

  • 32 Hours/Week: $73,408 – $93,951
  • 36 Hours/Week: $82,584 – $105,695

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Licensure: Must possess a current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
  • Driver’s License: A valid State of Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license is required (travel between centers may be necessary).
